The time is now for us to really understand what is at stake. You take a look around this crazy world we are on, and all you see is one thing after another that is meant to pull us away from Christ. Society has turned “Christian” into a taboo word that people now connect with unaccepting and closed-minded. Christians are persecuted all over the world, but no one talks about it. Our religion and beliefs are mocked openly in today’s media. Just recently, Jesus Christ was depicted by an LGBTQ actress. The clips shown were demonic at best.Despite all of this, it is necessary to be strong in faith. It is necessary for us men to stand up and face the views of the world head-on. Christ told us over and over that there would be persecution. That the world would not accept us. That we would be ostracized, and mocked, and in many cases, killed just because we believe in the one true Son of God. That we believe in a God of Grace. That we confess with our mouths and believe in our hearts that Jesus Christ was born from a virgin, that He lived a completely holy life, that He was crucified and died for our sins, and that He rose three days later.We must do this in spite of what may happen. We might lose friends, we might lose family members, we could lose our jobs, but when we stand before God and we are judged, we can say that we never denied Him. That we stood up to the fire like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and said we are not going to change our beliefs just because society dictates us to do so. How were they able to face such an awful demise? By faith and their fellowship with one another. That is what we are going to do: we are going to face this giant that is the secular world through faith and through strengthening each other through fellowship. That old, overused proverb “iron sharpens iron.” It is overused because it is true. Welcome to the group. The goal is to help everyone grow in their faith and become the Christian man that they are called to be. It all starts with Scripture and Bible study and branches out from there. This is not something where you are going to be yelled at by someone imitating a drill sergeant, nor a rite-of-passage sort of boot camp. Our rite of passage was already taken and paid for by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; we just have to walk it.
